We are excited to invite people with FOP, family members, friends and supporters in Australia and New Zealand to our first national gathering this decade! We also welcome all health professionals to learn about Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva.
The 2025 FOP Australia Conference will be held on the 22nd-24th August in Melbourne at the Holiday Inn Express Melbourne Southbank. We are currently exploring options for virtual attendance for those unable to attend in person.

This will include the FOP Australia 2024/2025 Annual General Meeting at 11:30am AEST on Sunday the 24th August, at the conference venue.
Registration:
Registration for people with FOP, family members and supporters is now open here – please use this REGISTRATION FORM link to plan your attendance and confirm accommodation via FOP Australia. If you are interested in attending virtually, we encourage you to register your interest through the same link in order to help us with planning to meet your needs.
If you are a health professional interested in attending (in-person or online) please register your expression of interest on the Clinician/Researcher EOI FORM here. Further information on clinician/researcher registration and the clinician education components of the program will be available soon.
Accommodation coverage:
- FOP Australia will book and pay for accommodation at the conference venue for Friday and Saturday night for people with FOP, and up to 2 support people per person with FOP.
- FOP Australia will book and pay for this accommodation directly, according to the information in the registration form.
- If you have additional family members or carers who wish to attend, please contact us at info@fopaustralia.org to discuss your accommodation needs further.
- For those planning to stay in Melbourne on Sunday night, we have also secured accommodation at a discounted rate, so please contact us at info@fopaustralia.org so that we can provide you with our private discount link as soon as we receive it.
Travel cost reimbursement:
- Each person with FOP can receive up to $2000AUD in reimbursement for travel costs. This can be used to cover flights, fuel, and other travel expenses for themselves and/or family/caregivers. Proof of expenses will be required.
- As this is a reimbursement process, please contact info@fopaustralia.org for a confidential discussion if you anticipate financial difficulty in covering costs upfront.
Accessibility:
We are grateful to our volunteers who have reviewed the venue’s accessibility around known requirements for attendees. If you would like to discuss your accessibility needs and equipment hire requirements with us, please contact us at info@fopaustralia.org. More information about the venue is available at their website (but please do not use their website for booking – bookings will be made directly by FOP Australia for those covered under the above accommodation arrangements, and a private link will be provided for other conference attendees to access discounted rates).
